5 Acre Woods is a Conservation, Restoration and Education project of Lake Forest Park Stewardship Foundation (LFPSF), to create an urban forest park with trails north of King County, Washington, in partnership with the city of Lake Forest Park. The LFP Stewardship Foundation and the friends of 5 Acre Woods are gathered to support and save land owned by Seattle Public Utility to transform into a p

ublic urban forest park with trails and a natural school, acquired by the city of Lake Forest Park, Washington. It is a Conservation, Restoration and Education project spearheaded by Lake Forest Park Stewardship Foundation. The LFPSF is strongly advocating the city of Lake Forest Park to acquired the land.

5 Acre Woods site is the largest remaining mature forest within the area; it includes 5.6 acres of rolling hills, a wetland and creek tributary of Lyon Creek and serves as an important wildlife corridor.

This is amazing! Please, all supporters of Five Acre Woods, help us save more forest !

Exciting news! The City of LFP has an opportunity to purchase 2.43 acres of forest land adjacent to the beautiful Five Acre Woods park! A show of public support is needed to urge the Council to approve the acquisition -- a rare opportunity to secure more mature forest for future park land.

It's already the first weekend in March!
Come on out and enjoy the forest on Saturday March 2nd at our monthly volunteer work party. 9am-12n we'll be there, rain or shine, continuing stewardship of the park. We'd love to see you there! dress for the weather, bring gloves and hand tools if you have them. We'll provide treats, hot drinks, water and camaraderie :)

A big THANK YOU to several LFP elementary 4th graders and their parents who volunteered at Five Acre Woods on Saturday! Hooray for future stewards of our earth coming out and learning that it can be fun to give time and make a difference to help keep our parks beautiful for all to enjoy.
