🌧️ LAKE ELSINORE — STORM PREPAREDNESS REMINDER 🌧️
A little rain is headed our way this Sunday, September 6, and while this storm is expected to be relatively small, it’s a great opportunity to get prepared now. Current forecasts show a chance of rain in the Lake Elsinore area Sunday.
🌧️ DON’T WAIT FOR THE BIG STORM!
Forecasters are expecting the potential for an above-normal rainy season across Southern California this fall and winter. That means now is the time to make sure your household is ready—not when the rain is already coming down.
🏠 AROUND YOUR HOME
• Clean leaves and debris from gutters and storm drains
• Check your roof, gutters and downspouts for problems
• Clear debris away from drainage areas
• Secure patio furniture, umbrellas and outdoor items
• Check that flashlights and batteries are working
• Have emergency supplies and medications ready
• Know where your main water, gas and electrical shutoffs are located
🚗 BEFORE YOU HIT THE ROAD
• Check your windshield wipers and tires
• Allow extra stopping distance on wet roads
• Never drive through a flooded roadway
• Turn Around, Don’t Drown! 🌊
• Watch for standing water, debris and reduced visibility
🐶🐱 DON’T FORGET YOUR PETS!
Your emergency plan should include every member of the family—including the four-legged ones. ❤️
• Keep pets indoors during severe weather
• Make sure collars and identification information are current
• Have pet food and water available
• Keep medications and important pet records accessible
• Have a carrier or leash ready
• Know where you can take your pets if you need to evacuate
🌧️ This Sunday’s rain may be small, but preparation starts now.
Take a few minutes this weekend to prepare your home, your vehicle and your pets. A little preparation today can make a big difference when the next storm arrives.
