Council of Progressive Political Groups in Greater Kansas City The Council provides resources to, and facilitates the coordination of events and sharing of Best Practices among politically progressive organizations.

The Council of Progressive Political Groups pursues progressive electoral change through the recruitment and training of new political candidates and the teams that support them. From simple "How To Run For Office" presentations to extended Candidate Training Programs, the Council provides a range of tools to help progressively-minded people engage and become part of the political solution. Individual efforts are important. Coordinated efforts are unstoppable.

CANDIDATE TRAINING PROGRAM: The Council will present a free, 10-week workshop to selected individuals. The workshop will be composed of a variety of speakers, videos, and exercises designed to hone your written and spoken campaign skills. By the end of the workshop, you will have 1) studied and written position statements on a range of progressive issues, 2) polished your skills in public speaking, interview and debate, and 3) learned how to research upcoming election opportunities, file and run a campaign. Applications will be available at our Progressive Candidate Forum on August 27th.
