I found this in my "inbox" this morning and I find it to reflect my thought on this matter almost perfectly. Credit to Focus Press:

I have been asked who I support in the Israel vs. Palestine conflict.

Honestly, at this point I’m not sure how to answer that question…and here’s why:
1. I no longer trust the media. Period. They have an agenda and they have been caught several times lying, slanting stories, or neglecting real news. So, they are no help.

2. I no longer trust Washington politicians. Period. Salaries for Washington politicians are fairly common knowledge for both representatives and senators. And yet, these individuals keep building their net worth by the millions—indicating they are getting money from something other than what they were hired to do.

3. I have read the Quran, and know their “holy book” approves of lying, as long as it furthers the interests of Allah. So I struggle trusting individuals who feel it is okay to lie as long as it furthers their cause.

4. Who really is the victim here? Palestinians are crying about being abused and hunted down—but didn’t they start the conflict to begin with? Weren’t they the ones who launched missiles first?

5. The protestors at colleges likely couldn’t find Palestine on a map. Most of the protestors are spoiled and entitled kids who are seeking attention. Likely many have been recruited by professional protestors to unleash all this commotion.

6. Everyone acts like Israel should have some type of special status, but as a New Testament Christian I know that the Gospel is for everyone—and while Jerusalem holds some incredible historical value, the Bible clearly indicates Jesus leveled the playing field for everyone. Jesus changed everything!

7. As a Christian I am in favor of peace. Period. I know Jesus said "Blessed are the peacemakers." When our government (or any government) starts talking about sending aid, I immediately wonder how much of that aid will be coming back to the politicians. It begs the question if ending such conflicts are really a priority or if they are getting their pockets lined.

8. I suspect it’s the average working-class people in that area that are really suffering from all this. And we never hear from them. Their lives have been disrupted as fighters from both sides justify their actions.

9. This conflict has been going on since Bible times—and it is likely not going to be resolved during my lifetime.

10. Being the skeptic that I am, I wonder what is really going on that the media and politicians are trying to divert our attention away from using this conflict.

So, do I have a side in this conflict?
How about this—I side with Jesus, and getting His truths out to as many people as possible. And I’m against anything (including wars) that hinders that Great Commission.
