Meet Heather Thomas, President & CEO
I joined the Lake City Chamber of Commerce in January 2023 as the Office & Event Coordinator and was honored to step into the President & CEO role in July 2024.
Over the past three and a half years, I've learned that relationship building is truly at the heart of what we do. I am passionate about connecting businesses, organizations, volunteers, and community leaders to create opportunities that help Lake City thrive.
I've been fortunate to help lead initiatives such as launching Chamber E-Bucks, purchasing our Chamber building and Visitor Center, growing sponsorships and community partnerships, and strengthening the Chamber's foundation through updated governance, member-driven committees, and improved organizational processes.
One of my favorite parts of this role is learning from other Chamber leaders and community professionals across Minnesota and bringing new ideas back to Lake City. We are always looking for ways to better serve our members, promote local businesses, and strengthen our community.
When I'm not at the Chamber, you'll find me with my husband, Tim, and our children, Aubrie, Jasper, and Lorelei. This year, our family also had the wonderful opportunity to host an exchange student, Sara, who quickly became part of our family. In the winter, we love skiing, and in the summer you'll usually find us at the cabin, fishing and enjoying time on the water. Aubrie is often my sidekick at Chamber events, helping out and earning volunteer hours along the way!
I am grateful to serve this incredible community and look forward to continuing to build connections that support Lake City's future.
