Dr. Hawkins played a role in developing projects and the beef herd here in Lake City for many years during his tenure at Michigan State University. We congratulate him for being recognized by American Angus.

As we posted earlier today, there will be a potato pick on Saturday October 4 from 8-10 am.

The crop is conventionally grown. MSU has a Potato breeding program and are working to improve varieties. The researchers take what they need to continue the research and graciously leave the rest of the crop for the public.

Be sure to bring your own pails or bags to collect the potatoes.
