Lake City Fire Department Responds to Residential Structure Fire
LAKE CITY, Minn. — At approximately 5:33 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, the Lake City Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the 200 block of South 7th Street in Lake City.
Initial reports indicated a house was on fire, with fire believed to be originating in the kitchen area. It was initially unknown whether anyone was inside the residence, and dispatch information indicated pets may have been inside.
Lake City firefighters began responding within minutes and arrived on scene at approximately 5:38 p.m. Four department apparatus responded to the incident: Engine 16, Rescue 18, Ladder 20, and Engine 21. Lake City was assisted on scene by Lake City Police, Lake City Ambulance, and mutual aid support from Wabasha Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to quickly clear the house and determine there wasn’t anyone inside. Crews worked at the scene for several hours, with the incident concluding at approximately 9:25 p.m.
