It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Retired Detective Tate.
Tate fought a long, hard battle, and he is finally at rest. Even after retiring, he never truly left the Morrow Police Department. Up until just a few weeks ago, Tate continued to serve as a Reserve Officer.
This loss is felt deeply by all of us. The bonds formed in this line of work are different from those of an ordinary job. We spend countless hours together, depend on one another, laugh together, struggle together, and somewhere along the way, coworkers become family. Tate was family.
And anyone who knew Tate knows there was only one Tate. He was funny, unapologetically himself, and truly did not care what anyone thought about it. He stayed true to who he was through and through, and that is just one of the many things we will miss about him.
Our department will not be the same without him. However, we have so many amazing memories with him, and we will hold onto them forever.
Please keep Tate’s wife, children, grandchildren, friends, and his entire Morrow Police Department family in your prayers as we navigate this incredibly heavy loss.
Rest easy, Detective Tate. You fought your fight. We’ll take it from here. 🖤💙🖤
