We are now accepting e-waste and electronics as a pilot program for recycling until June 12, during normal collection hours, at no charge for Missaukee residents.

We are also accepting boat shrink wrap for recycling now until May 30th. Wrap can be dropped off OR you can pickup the bags for recycling, fill them with the wrap, and return them during normal collection hours.

CLOSURE NOTICE!!

Winter is really not letting up! ❄️ Due to below-zero wind chills and gusty winds expected tonight and into tomorrow, the Recycling Center will be CLOSED, Saturday, February 7, 2026.

We’re already looking ahead to better weather next week though. Thank you for your patience, please stay safe and stay warm!

The Missaukee County Recycling Center will be CLOSED tomorrow (Wednesday) January 28th.

Saturday is anticipated to have higher temps and some sunshine, so we are hoping to be open as normal on Saturday. Thank you for your patience as we get through this winter season!

Good Morning!

We are open today, Wednesday, January 21 until 3pm.

Looking ahead to this weekend, Saturday temps look well below zero, so please check back before heading to the center this Saturday, January 24. We'll make an official decision and notice closer to Saturday as we monitor weather forecast.

Unfortunately, due to cold temps and wind gusts up to 30mph expected to last all day, we will be CLOSED for collections today (Wednesday, January 14). Please come see us this Saturday 9am-1pm!

Good Morning! Wednesday, December 31:

We are OPEN! Power has been restored and we are open 9am-3pm. We are asking to please be patient today, as we are expecting high volume of material drop offs today. It’s still cold and breezy and staff will be working hard to get vehicles through, so we appreciate your patience!

Good Morning, we were looking forward to this extra day of recycling collections, but unfortunately with no power at the center, we’ll need to remain closed. Restoration time is listed as tomorrow, so please check tomorrow before you travel to the center as well.
