From Service to Success: Bryson Allison Builds His Future at SOWELA Morgan Smith 🎖️📚

Bryson Allison was already serving as an interior electrician in the Louisiana National Guard when a friend suggested he explore SOWELA's Instrumentation and Electrical program. Looking to further his education and expand his career opportunities beyond the military, Allison found that SOWELA Morgan Smith in Jeff Davis Parish was the perfect fit.

"My experience at SOWELA Morgan Smith has been great," said Allison. "Balancing military service and college can be challenging, but my instructors regularly reach out and encourage me, even when military responsibilities cause me to miss class."

One instructor, Mr. Castille, has made a particularly lasting impression.

"He has a saying: 'Sometimes you've got to change and learn how to be uncomfortable,' and that inspires me to keep learning and growing," Allison said.

Allison will graduate in December and is excited to see what opportunities lie ahead. He has already distinguished himself through his military service, earning the Best Warrior Army Achievement Medal for his company and being named Distinguished Leader upon completing his military Basic Leadership Course.

"Ultimately, I would like to become a military chaplain, and I'm excited to see where my SOWELA degree will take me because I know it’s valued among employers," shared Allison.

When asked what advice he would give, he shares, “if you’re in the military, there’s no excuse not to go back to school. It’s free and paid for. No one can take away your knowledge—you have nothing to lose. Stay dedicated to it.”

With a strong foundation in technical education, leadership, and service, Allison is poised to make an impact wherever his career leads. His dedication to personal growth and commitment to serving others exemplify the determination and excellence found among SOWELA students.
