𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗳𝘀!
Registration for the next round of the 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 (𝗟𝗙𝗛𝗣) will open at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 1, and will include 3,000 grants. The registration period for this lottery will be open for three weeks, closing at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 19.

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: To sign up for the lottery, homeowners must register during the June registration period. Homeowners who registered for a previous round but were not selected must register again to participate. When registering, homeowners will need to upload these documents:
📃 Homestead exemption
📃 Insurance policy declarations page that includes wind coverage
📃 Insurance declarations page if the residence is in a flood zone

A new diversion ditch off Forest Avenue has been completed in an area known for a high risk of flooding.

The project helps move water away from surrounding neighborhoods more efficiently, reducing the risk of flooding during heavy rain events and improving drainage in the area.

Investments like this help strengthen our drainage system and improve resilience for residents living nearby.

The northbound lane of John Brannon Road, approximately 1,000 feet south of Highway 108, will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 28, due to a power pole replacement.

No detour will be required, but drivers should expect delays. Work may be affected by weather.

With all the recent rain, now is a great time to check around your home for standing water.

Buckets, flower pots, toys, tarps, tires, and other containers can quickly become mosquito breeding grounds after heavy rainfall.

If you can dump it out or cover it up, you can help reduce mosquitoes around your home.

Calcasieu Parish Police Jury offices are closed today in observance of Memorial Day. Offices will reopen Tuesday, May 26.

The Residential Solid Waste Convenience Centers in Lake Charles and Sulphur will be open on Memorial Day.

As families prepare to gather at Orange Grove Cemetery for the Avenue of Flags event this Memorial Day, the Calcasieu Parish Mosquito Control team has been hard at work larviciding the area to help reduce mosquito activity ahead of the event.

It’s one of the many behind-the-scenes efforts happening to help make community events more comfortable for everyone attending.
