It is a beautiful morning - even more so because Lake Forest High School is buzzing with full activity. Our students are back in the classroom with each other to close out the year.

While our vote count came up short last night, we take pride in the fact that we accomplished our number one goal of putting students first and back in the classroom.

We congratulate Sally Davis, David Burns, John Venson, and Marcus Schabacker for their hard-fought victory. We will do everything we can do to ensure they are successful.

As we saw with the recent District 67 Board's failure, our students' right to in-classroom learning is tenuous and we must continue to apply pressure on their behalf. So please stay engaged with us. Our administrators and board members may sometimes need reminders that they work for, and must be responsive to, the community.

With a new Superintendent coming in, we have tremendous optimism for the future of our school district and for our exceptional children we produce.

Thank you for being part of our Let's Do Better movement!

Yours truly,
Jeff, Amy, Joanna & Ted

We believe that more diversity would make our community stronger. It would also improve our school rankings and better prepare our children for success. We'll work to ensure our school district is welcoming for all students regardless of ethnicity, religion, or political beliefs.
