See below update from the Lake Bluff Police Department regarding the harsh weather this week:

At the recommendation of the Lake County Health Department, the Village of Lake Bluff will spray for adult mosquitos this Thursday evening (August 14, after 9:30 pm).

With the warm weather, West Nile Virus activity remains high. The Lake County Health Department will also be spraying the unincorporated areas of Shields Township and Libertyville Township that are adjacent to the Village of Lake Bluff.

Per CDC guidelines, you do not need to leave an area when the truck sprays for mosquito control; you may prefer to stay inside and close windows and doors but it is not necessary. The spray does not harm pets, but you may choose to bring them inside when spraying occurs.

Extreme heat is expected tomorrow and Thursday.

As a reminder, the Lake Bluff Public Safety Building lobby is available if you need to cool off. Designated Cooling Centers throughout Lake County can be located through the link below.

Also, please feel free to call the Lake Bluff Police Department at (847) 234-2153 to request a well-being check for any resident during this heat wave.

On Wednesday, July 30 the Village of Lake Bluff will be hosting a Green Bay Road and Bridge Reconstruction Open House for residents to attend. The Open House will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Lake Bluff Public Safety Building Community Room located at 45 East Center Avenue. Individuals who are unable to attend the meeting may view the exhibits on the Village’s website or at Village Hall from July 31 until August 29. 6/19/2025 UPDATE: The precautionary boil order for the Village of Lake Bluff has officially been lifted. Community members can resume use of tap water for all daily purposes, including drinking and cooking, without the need for boiling.

The Village’s investigation revealed that a glitch in the water operating system software caused the loss of pressure system-wide.

The decision to lift this boil order comes after thorough testing and confirmation that the water quality meets safety standards as per the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA).

A precautionary boil order has been issued for all Village of Lake Bluff water customers due to a pressure loss in the system. Residents are advised to boil water for drinking and cooking purposes until further notice. Please note that the boil order does not apply to Sanctuary Subdivision residents.

This is a standard procedure to ensure safety after a disruption to the water supply.
