At the November 11, 2025 meeting, the Town Council of Laguna Vista, Texas approved the purchase of 13 G***k 47 (COA) 9mm pistols for the Laguna Vista Police Department.

Manufactured by G***k Ges.m.b.H., the G***k 47 (COA) 9mm pistols are designed to deliver rapid-fire capability, reduced recoil, and high-level accuracy, making them well-suited for high-risk tactical deployments.

The new fi****ms will also enhance regional interoperability. The G***k 47 platform allows officers to interchange magazines with many surrounding law enforcement agencies, improving coordination and operational efficiency in the event of a large-scale or mass-casualty incident.

The purchase is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to ensure officers are equipped with reliable, standardized equipment to support public safety operations.

Sergeant Jesus Vargas enjoyed meeting the students, hearing about their future goals, and learning what they hope to be when they grow up.
