The eclipse. God’s handiwork! Beautiful sight enjoyed by millions.
We only had 40 at the St Patrick mass yesterday, but with spring break, I attributed it to people traveling home or leaving for a week away.
Fr. David was our guest priest. So talented! He went up to the Etben organ, sat down and started playing! We teased him that he could do double duty and give his homily from the balcony and then lead us in song!! We miss our Fr. Jay, but hardworking priests need vacations too! Until May 5!!!

What is FOSP and why are they important?
FOSP are the FRIENDS OF SAINT PATRICK’s and they do the invisible jobs.
Dusting, sweeping, wiping and washing…if it’s dusty or dirty or not squeaky clean, we go to work!
We also plan social events and bake and bring in the treats when we have special events!
Sound like something you would enjoy doing? We can always use more people. Just leave a note & we will contact you!!

This is a story worth telling. So this morning, Friends of St Patrick’s was at the church doing fall cleaning. We were about to start a short meeting when this car drove up & four people got out. They wanted to see the church. We invited them in for a five minute tour and I asked where they were from.
“St Louis,” was the response, “but we have family who grew up in this church.”
A little more questioning and the man told me his grandmother Noonan once went to St Pat’s and he went on to say his family included the Elward’s and the Anderson’s. This was like hitting pay dirt history as those names built the walls of St Pat’s.
I quickly called Jane, Teresa and Mary over, as they are descendants of those families and it took about two seconds for them to connect the dots and realize they were all cousins!
It was just “serendipitous” as Larry Wente put it. They were headed to the St Pat cemetery to further explore their genealogy.
Once a St Patrick member, always one. From near and far, the sweet little Lagro township and beautiful St Pat’s enfolds and welcomes family from near and far.
Pictured are the cousins.

Today’s tour was so special. It was a slightly younger class from NHS and I knew nearly everyone!
Love telling the history of St Pat’s, answering questions and listening anew to the responses to our beautiful Oratory.

Wow! What a day we had! It was Lagro Days and St. Pat’s was honored for service to the community. The present church is 150 years old this year.
The church was open for tours all day. We had so many people through...from locally to Warsaw, Claypool, Markle, Arcola, Rennsalaer...
We never get tired of hearing how beautiful the church is or giving tours over and over.
Thank you to all who came by. Thank you to Ftiends if St. Patricj’s volunteers, to Jo Kerr-the Grand Marshal-to Julia Rensberger for her convertible for Jo, to the Lagro parade and event people. Lots if hard work was put in by so many people.
I leave you with a short reel of the ringing of the church bells.
