🤡 STROLLING CHARACTERS AT FALL FESTIVAL!

Part of the fun of the LaGrange Fall Festival is never quite knowing who you’ll meet along the way! Watch for our Scarecrow Stilt Walker, say hello to BeeBee the Clown, and keep those cameras ready for special character appearances throughout the festival.

It’s been a great week at the LaGrange Senior Center! ☀️🌻🥯

On Tuesday, we welcomed special guest Suzanne Turisi, historian and podcaster of All My Favorite People Are Dead: A Historical Podcast. We had a full house for a fascinating, and very entertaining, trip through history! Suzanne shared stories of the famous and the infamous people who have come before us, blending humor, lively banter, and plenty of interesting historical details. Our seniors thoroughly enjoyed the program! A huge thank you to Empire Bagels for generously donating delicious bagels for everyone to enjoy. They were a hit!

Then today, a little sunshine arrived at the Senior Center — literally! Town Supervisor Anthony Marinaro and Highway Superintendent John Wisseman stopped by to hand-deliver beautiful sunflowers to our seniors, thanks to Hudson Valley Cold Pressed.

From good stories and lots of laughs to bagels and beautiful blooms, it’s been a pretty wonderful week with our Senior Center crew. 💛

🍁ATTENTION LEAF PEEPERS!🍁

This week marks the first 2026 I LOVE NY Fall Foliage Report for New York State. Reports are obtained from more than 100 volunteer field observers and reflect expected color conditions for the coming weekend. Reports are issued every Wednesday afternoon. I LOVE NY defines "peak" as the best overall appearance the foliage will have during the season, taking into account color transition, brilliance, and leaf droppage. Last call for registrations for The LAGRANGE FALL SENIOR SOCIAL!

LaGrange residents ages 55+ are invited to join us on Wednesday, September 23rd from 11:30am–1:30pm under the Main Pavilion at Freedom Park.

Sponsored by Sheriff Kirk Imperati and Landmark Grill, the afternoon will include a delicious buffet prepared by Landmark Grill featuring penne vodka, sauteed rosemary lemon chicken, roasted sweet potato and root vegetables, fingerling potatoes, apple cranberry walnut fall salad, and a fall style sweet dessert.

You'll also enjoy music, raffles, giveaways, and plenty of time to enjoy with friends and neighbors!

📍 Main Pavilion at Freedom Park, 212 Skidmore Rd.
🎟️ $10/person / Open to LaGrange residents ages 55+ / Registration required

Registration is NOT available at the Senior Drop-In Center. Proof of residency through a property tax or utility bill is required if it has not already been supplied for 2026.

🚍 NOVEMBER LAGRANGE SENIOR BUS TRIP OPENS TOMORROW!

We invite LaGrange residents ages 55+ to join us for a fun day at the New England Christmas Festival at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT, on Friday, 11/6!

Registration opens tomorrow, 9/15, 9am, IN PERSON in the RECREATION OFFICE and continues M-F, 9am-3:30pm, until the bus is full. Just $20 per person includes festival ticket, bus transportation, and gratuity. Lunch is on your own.

Our first partner event with Trout Unlimited took place today at Freedom Park. The Fly Tying 101 workshop was held inside our nature program building from 1-5 pm. The class split in half for the two components… outdoor education & classroom instruction. It was a very successful and sought after program. Look for more in the future. Thank you to our friends at Mid-Hudson Trout Unlimited for their desire to bring this workshop to the community.
