After 26 years of dedicated service as our Fire Chief, we wish Chief Max Kulpinski a very happy and well-deserved retirement! His leadership has been the backbone of this department for over two decades, and we thank him for his years of sacrifice and steady hand.

As we celebrate his retirement, we are proud to introduce our new leadership team. Chief Scott Mingus now takes the helm to lead us forward, joined by Assistant Chief Clinton Lehman, who has already been serving the department in this capacity for the past year.
Please join us in honoring Chief Kulpinski’s 26-year career and welcoming Chief Mingus and Assistant Chief Lehman into their roles! 👨‍🚒🚩

On Tuesday, February 17th, Officers responded to a report of an individual who had fallen through the ice. Upon arrival, Deputies located the individual in a pond situated in a field. They were able to throw a line to him; however, he was stuck in the hole in the ice.

Officers successfully extricated the LaGrange County resident from the ice and brought him safely to shore. On Friday, February 20th, Sheriff Tracy Harker recognized all first responders involved with a Life Saving Award.

🟠 LaGrange County has upgraded to a Travel Watch (Orange) Status. 🟠

A “Watch” Means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a "watch" local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations.

Highway workers are out and if you can stay off the roads, it will help them out alot. Vehicles that are stuck in the roadways cause the process to slow down substantially.

Stay inside and warm today.

This Christmas season, we want to take a moment to say thank you.

We are incredibly thankful for our volunteer members who selflessly give their time, energy, and skills to serve others—often leaving their families, jobs, and holiday celebrations to answer the call and protect our community.

We are grateful for the training opportunities that allow our volunteers to stay prepared, work safely, and provide the best possible service. Continuous training strengthens our department and ensures we’re ready whenever an emergency arises.

Most of all, we thank our community for its continued support. Your trust, encouragement, and generosity make it possible for a volunteer department like ours to serve effectively. We are proud and honored to protect such a supportive community.

From all of us at the LaGrange Fire Department, we wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a safe, happy New Year.

Kinda late from yesterday, but the members of LaGrange Fire Department want to say thanks to Foltz Bakery, after an early morning run they supplied donuts for the crew after the run.

We love our small town business.
