LAGRANGE — A former surgery center north of LaGrange is being transformed into a business hub.

05/21/2026

The LaGrange County Innovation Center (LCIC) was designed to support entrepreneurs, strengthen our workforce, and create new opportunities right here in LaGrange County. After years of planning, partnerships, fundraising, and community support, we’re excited to see that vision taking shape.

One very impactful part of the project will be expanded childcare through GO Foundation, Inc - GO Explore Childcare & Preschool. Access to quality childcare is one of the biggest barriers facing working families and employers today, and increasing childcare capacity helps support workforce participation, talent attraction, and long-term community growth. We encourage you to give their organization a follow - they are currently working on fundraising to fill their classrooms and frequently share ways you can support their efforts! You can also read more and make direct donations on their website here: https://www.gofoundationearlylearning.org/

As construction continues, it’s exciting to see this project transform from an idea into a true community asset.

We absolutely love collaborating with the LaGrange County Chamber of Commerce on Leadership LaGrange County and watching leaders from across our communities grow, connect, and step into their strengths.

Last week, we officially kicked off the Leadership LaGrange County Class of 2026, and it was exciting to see this group begin building relationships and learning more about themselves through the CliftonStrengths assessment process.

One of the best parts of this program is watching participants gain confidence, deepen their understanding of our county, and discover new ways they can make an impact both professionally and personally.

We’re grateful for the partnership that makes this program possible and can’t wait to see what this year’s cohort accomplishes together.

We’re excited to continue our Board Member Spotlight Series by highlighting our Board Treasurer, Chad German.

Chad brings a deep understanding of both rural life and local business to his role on our board. Raised on a farm and shaped by early experiences working in agriculture and small business, he developed a strong appreciation for the hard work and resilience it takes to sustain and grow a business in a rural community.

Chad has spent more than 30 years with Farmers State Bank, building a career that has taken him from Assistant Credit Analyst to his current role as Chief Lending Officer. In this position, he plays a key role in shaping lending strategy and supporting local businesses through financial decision-making and investment.

Through his work, Chad has had the opportunity to see firsthand the innovation, determination, and grit of LaGrange County’s business community. That perspective, combined with his financial expertise, makes him an invaluable asset as Treasurer of the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation.

Beyond his professional work, Chad is deeply invested in the community—supporting local youth, participating in scholarship reviews for the LaGrange County Community Foundation, and remaining closely connected to the people and places that make this county special.

We’re grateful for Chad’s leadership, insight, and commitment to helping move LaGrange County forward.
