Our Community, Our Future (June 13, Cedar Park) welcomes TARA and Lone Star Circle of Care
Indivisible 1431 is pleased to announce that Lone Star Circle of Care and Texas Alliance for Retired Americans (TARA) are joining Our Community, Our Future on June 13 in Cedar Park’s Veterans Memorial Park.
“Our Community, Our Future” seeks to connect working families in our community with practical information and resources on issues that matter most to everyday people — including food assistance, health care access, immigration rights, and how to take action on the issues affecting our lives.
There will be fun for kids of all ages, and activities to build our community.
Welcome, TARA!
TARA’s mission is to ensure civil rights for retirees and older Americans by educating and mobilizing members to elect leaders committed to social and economic justice Texas AFL-CIO.
TARA operates as a grassroots movement in Texas, enrolling, educating, and mobilizing retired union, senior, and community activists to advocate for policies that protect and advance the interests of Texas retirees Its work includes:
• Advocating for stronger defined-benefit pension annuities and retiree health care funding
• Supporting cost-of-living increases for retirees
• Promoting age-friendly city planning and accessibility initiatives
• Expanding senior housing affordability and transportation programs
• Protecting seniors from abuse and fraud
• Removing barriers to senior voter participation
Lone Star Circle of Care: keeping Texans healthy
Lone Star Circle of Care prides itself on providing exceptional and accessible patient-centered healthcare for our Texas neighbors. In 2001, Lone Star Circle of Care (LSCC) was founded on the promise of bringing quality, affordable healthcare to all. Caring for our Texas neighbors, regardless of income or coverage status, takes significant resources. Addressing the social constructs that affect health, those that must be treated outside the exam room, do as well.
LSCC utilizes a patient-centered approach that embraces innovation and evidence-based practices. By analyzing our de-identified patient data, we are able to further tailor our healthcare offerings to best serve our patients. Creating a safe and trusting healthcare home is the heartbeat behind what we do.
Free sandwiches, chips, cookies!
At this no-cost event, Indivisible 1431 will provide free sandwiches, chips, cookies, and water to attendees (while supplies last). Pets (leashed!) are welcome. “Our Community, Our Future,” will be held Saturday, June 13, in Cedar Park’s Veteran’s Memorial Park (11 am- 2 pm, 2525 New Hope).
