🚒 Serving Beyond Our Community 🌊

When our neighbors need help, firefighters answer the call — no matter where that call takes them.

On August 27, LFD Firefighter and Water Rescue Team member Eric Smith volunteered his time and expertise to assist the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) in the recovery of thirteen vehicles that were submerged in the White River following the recent flooding in the area.

Working alongside these agencies, he put his skills to work in challenging conditions to help with the river clean-up effort.

We’re proud of Firefighter Smith for representing the Lafayette Fire Department and demonstrating the spirit of service that defines the fire service.

Thank you for stepping up, lending a hand, and helping when it's needed it most! 👏🚒

Firefighters Alex Previs and Ryan Hahn stepped in to help a couple struggling to load their new grill into their vehicle. No dispatch, no sirens, just being in the right place with a little help when it was needed.

Sometimes being a firefighter is more than just fighting fires and saving lives...sometimes it's just being a good neighbor.

This week, Firefighter Ryan Hahn was caught on camera repairing a scooter for a young neighbor near Station 3.
