O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children... You are the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of danger over which we have no control: the Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster.

Today, we prayed for all to be spared from disaster this hurricane season. Thanks to all who joined us.

Summertime at Catholic Charities of Acadiana can be rough. Not only are there volunteer shortages, there is a decline in food donations. And the need remains.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a reminder of Christ's endless love, compassion, and concern for those who are struggling.

As we honor the Sacred Heart, may we be inspired to see the dignity of every person, open our hearts to those in need, and become instruments of God's love in our communities.

Please join us next Wednesday at Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, to pray for the safety of our community during the hurricane season.

The Cathedral and Catholic Charities invite all to the Hurricane Mass on Wednesday, June 17, at 12:05 p.m. as we pray for protection from storms throughout the hurricane season. Stella Maris, pray for us.

Yesterday, our team attended a conference on Catholic Social Teaching, reflecting on the principles that guide our mission and service.

At the heart of CST is the dignity of every human person. From this foundational principle flows a commitment to the common good—the social conditions that allow all people to flourish.

As we continue our work in the community, we're grateful to refresh and deepen our knowledge of these teachings and put them into action through service, advocacy, and accompaniment.

🕚 Lunch Shift | 11:00 am-1:00 pm
🕐 Dinner & Closing Shift | 1:00 pm-3:00 pm
