During last night’s Commission meeting, Sheriff Nelson recognized Macy Whorton for 10 years of dedicated service with the Chambers County Alabama Sheriff's Office. We are incredibly grateful for Macy and all that she does for our community. Chambers County is fortunate to have her!

Last night at our meeting, County Engineer Josh Harvill recognized Mike Meadows (32 years of service) and Sam Copeland (18 years of service) for their many years of dedicated service to Chambers County. We are incredibly thankful for their commitment and hard work over the years. Chambers County is fortunate to have employees like them!

Congratulations on your retirement, and we will miss you.

We just wrapped up another successful Commission Meeting, with a special focus on recognizing outstanding students across Chambers County.

Congratulations to the Chambers County Legislator’s Scholarship Recipients:

- Valley High School: Amari Lowe and Ethan Brookes
- Lanett High School: Cameron Johnson and Valeria Velazquez
- Springwood School: Tucker Sides and Madison Robinson
- Lafayette High School: Tramiya Holloway and Thomas Patillo
- Chambers Academy: Eli Whorton and Lindsay Snow

Following that, we had our Alabama PALS Recognition:

-Grades K–3 Poster Winner: Michael Whipple, Bob Harding Shawmut Elementary School
-Grades 4–6 Poster Winner: Rylie Maples, Chambers Academy
-Recycled Art Contest Winners: McKenzie Martinez and Savannah Luse, LaFayette High School
