10/19 & 10/21 Public Hearings for Proposed Rental Increase. Lafayette Housing Authority will be having a public hearing for a proposed rental increase.

The public hearings will be held on October 19, 2020 and October 21, 2020, in the Center for Hope, Opportunity and Success (outside area) located at 115 Kattie Dr. Lafayette, LA. 70501.

The meeting times will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both days. The meetings will start promptly at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the designated days.

If approved by the board, the effective date of the rental increase will be December 1, 2020.

Hello our LHA Families:

LHA will be closed starting Thursday, October 8, 2020 and if weather permits returning on Monday, October 12, 2020. As always, if maintenance is needed, they will ONLY come out for emergencies due to the safety of our staff as well as yours. Please call the number below that correlates with your living location.

In preparation for Hurricane Delta, LHA is providing a list of resources which will be helpful during this rough time with the expected weather scheduled.

Sandbag Locations:

Lafayette city and parish locations:
- North District site at 400 N Dugas Road (located off North University Avenue)
- Foster Park at 399 2nd Street in Youngsville
Self-bagging; bring shovel and manpower

Bags Per Household

Please limit sandbags to four bags per exterior door.
Maximum of 20 sandbags per household.
Broussard:

City Hall, 310 E. Main Street (behind City Hall)
- Deer Meadow Subdivision (corner of Deer Meadow Boulevard and Myette Point Street)
- Broadview Drive (by Broussard Community Center)
Self-bagging; bring shovel and manpower. Sandbag stations are open until the threat of heavy rain has passed.

Carencro:
- Community Center, 5115 N. University Avenue (behind the

LHA Announces Mr. Theodore Ortiviz as the Executive Director/CEO

Theodore R. Ortiviz has been hired as the Executive Director/CEO of the Lafayette Housing Authority (LHA). Under Theodore's leadership, LHA has undertaken an ambitious and transformational plan to revitalize public housing in Lafayette.

Theodore earned his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University-Pueblo. Previous housing experience includes leadership positions at the Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo, Pueblo County Department of Housing and Human Services, Pueblo County Department of Social Services, National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO).

The LHA Board of Commissioners is excited to have Mr. Ortiviz onboard.
