The Louisiana Avenue Extension Project includes extending Louisiana Avenue to Gloria Switch Road. A full replacement of the existing asphalt roadway with a new concrete roadway and a concrete roundabout at the new Gloria Switch and Louisiana Avenue intersection will be constructed. It will also include pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, subsurface drainage, addition of a box culvert, curb and gutter, and a grass median. Overall, the Louisiana Avenue Extension project will provide significant benefits to the community by improving transportation infrastructure, creating a more efficient traffic flow in the area, ensuring the safety of pedestrians and motorists, and enhancing pedestrian accessibility of the area.

UPDATE ON CORMIER ROAD !

I am happy to announce that in today’s professional service review committee meeting we appropriated $125,000 to provide design and prepare plans and specifications to convert the gravel section of Cormier Road into blacktop. Please understand that this is only to design and engineer the project, future funding to actually do the project still needs to be identified.

SUNFLOWER ESTATES & PINNACLE POINT UPDATE!

I have an update for you on the process of the Prejean Rd. Blacktop conversion project. The plans are nearly complete, and the project is expected to go out for bid sometime this October. After the contractor is selected the start time of the actual work is usually 60 to 90 days. Please keep in mind that this is an estimated timeline and is subject to change if some unforeseen issue arises, but if everything goes right the work will start early next year. I apologize that it is taking so long to get this project started, but they had a lot of red tape and drainage issues to deal with
