Un pont artistique entre la Louisiane et le Sud de la France ! Les élèves de First Grade de la classe de Maëva ont accompli un exploit incroyable. Pour la toute première fois, l'exposition française « Pont du G'art » a fait une exception internationale pour intégrer une classe d'immersion louisianaise !

Cinquante classes situées autour du mythique monument du Pont du Gard participent à cet événement. Nos jeunes Louisianais ont travaillé toute l'année sur le thème « Animal au carré » pour réaliser un court-métrage exclusif. Ce film sera projeté du 17 au 20 juin directement dans le cinéma adjacent au Pont du Gard, en France.

Une opportunité unique qui prouve que l'éducation bilingue élargit les horizons de notre jeunesse, bien au-delà des frontières. Félicitations aux élèves et à leur enseignante pour ce projet qui fait rayonner notre culture à l'international !

An artistic bridge between Louisiana and the South of France!

Maëva’s First Grade immersion students achieved an incredible international milestone! For the very first time, the French exhibition "Pont du G'art" made a global exception to include a Louisiana immersion classroom.

Fifty schools surrounding the historic Pont du Gard monument take part in this annual event. Our young Louisiana students worked hard all year around the theme "Animal au carré" to create an exclusive short film. Their work will be screened from June 17 to 20 directly at the cinema adjacent to the monument in France!

This unique project is proof that bilingual education expands horizons for our youth, far beyond our borders. Congratulations to the students and their teacher for representing Louisiana on the world stage!

The Folk Roots Kids Camp is such a fun way to enrich our youth with the tools to continue to preserve our unique traditions here in Acadiana. In this 5-day camp kids aging from 8-14 years old will experience fun-filled traditional music instrument classes, creating folk crafts, French language singing, and so much more!🎻

We want to help the kiddos of Acadiana's future by giving out TWO scholarships that will fully pay for the registration fee to allow two kids to prosper in the enrichment of our culture!

Hommage à Ulysse Joubert, ancien membre du conseil d'administration du CODOFIL
C'est avec une profonde tristesse que nous avons appris le décès d'Ulysse Joubert. Figure incontournable de l'éducation en Louisiane, il a dirigé l'école élémentaire Park Vista à Opelousas en tant que principal pendant plusieurs décennies, marquant ainsi des générations de jeunes Louisianais. Son engagement envers notre patrimoine s'est également traduit par son rôle d'ancien membre du conseil d'administration du CODOFIL, où il a mis sa sagesse et son dévouement au service de la préservation de notre langue. Nous offrons nos plus sincères condoléances à sa famille et à ses proches.

In Memory of Ulysse Joubert, Former CODOFIL Board Member
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Ulysse Joubert. A cornerstone of education in Louisiana, Mr. Joubert served as the principal of Park Vista Elementary in Opelousas for decades, shaping the lives of generations of young Louisianians. His commitment to our heritage extended to his service as a former member of the CODOFIL Board of Directors, where he dedicated his wisdom and leadership to the preservation of our language. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones.

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Mr. Ulysse Joubert, a beloved educator, mentor, and leader who faithfully served as Principal of Park Vista Elementary School for 35 years.

For more than three decades, Mr. Joubert dedicated his life to the students, staff, and families of Park Vista. His unwavering commitment to education, strong leadership, and genuine care for others helped shape generations of students and left a lasting impact on our community. To many, he was not only a principal, but a role model, encourager, and friend.

The legacy he leaves behind can be seen in the countless lives he touched, the educators he inspired, and the traditions of excellence he helped establish. His influence will forever remain a part of Park Vista Elementary School.

As we remember and honor Mr. Joubert’s remarkable life and service, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, former colleagues, students, and all who were blessed to know him.
