A huge thank you to all the schools and daycares that invited us to be a part of Community Helpers Month! 🤩

We had such a wonderful time meeting with the kids, sharing what we do, and answering all their fantastic questions. We absolutely loved seeing the excitement on their faces!

Update on Roads Opening:

I-10 EB inside land is now open and flowing. The on-ramp at University Avenue and Ambassador Caffery is also open. Additional openings are expected to follow within the next two hours.

I-10 Eastbound is CLOSED at I-49 due to an 18-wheeler fire.
All I-10 Eastbound traffic is being DIVERTED off the interstate at the University Avenue exit. The I-10 Eastbound on-ramp at I-49 is also closed.
AVOID THE AREA! Expect major delays and seek alternate routes.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of retired officer Paul Matte.

Paul dedicated 30 years of his life to public service, faithfully protecting and serving our community as an officer with the Lafayette Police Department. His unwavering commitment and professionalism made a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the residents he served. He will be truly missed by his friends, family, and all who had the honor of working alongside him.
