Koch Fertilizer Hazmat Training

The Lafayette Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team participated in an annual Emergency Response Plan (ERP) training exercise with Koch Fertilizer, which specializes in anhydrous ammonia.

The scenario provided realistic, hands-on training for both Koch Fertilizer personnel and LFD Special Teams, focusing on hazardous materials response, Technician-Level A suit operations, and the identification of anhydrous ammonia storage and transportation systems.

These training opportunities strengthen coordination between industry partners and emergency responders, helping ensure our teams are prepared to respond to hazardous materials incidents safely and effectively.

Do you keep your phone plugged in ?

Unplug your device when it is fully charged. Leaving it plugged in longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery. Fire Prevention Week is October 4–10, 2026.
