🚒✨ Community connection in action!
Our Mooresville Bauer Head Start and Early Head Start friends had some very special visitors stop by last week. Local firefighters came to spend time with the children, share what they do, and help everyone learn a little more about fire safety.

The kids loved exploring the truck, meeting the crew, and asking lots of great questions. Thank you to our Mooresville firefighters for taking the time to visit and inspire our youngest learners.

🎉 Celebrating 61 Years of Head Start 🎉

For more than six decades, Head Start has opened doors, inspired young minds, and strengthened families across the country. As we celebrate Head Start’s 61st birthday, we honor a legacy built on opportunity and a belief that every child deserves a strong start in life.

At Bauer Family Resources, we are incredibly proud to be part of this mission. Through our Head Start programs, we have the privilege of supporting children’s growth, empowering families, and building stronger communities right here at home. Every smile, every milestone, and every success story remind us why this work matters.

Sixty-one years ago, Head Start started as an 8-week summer program. Eight weeks. The idea was modest by design, a way to see if reaching kids early could make a difference.

It made a difference.

What grew from those first summers is now one of the longest-running early childhood programs in American history, serving families in cities, rural towns, tribal communities, and migrant farmworker camps alike. Forty million children and counting.

Today we mark 61 years — not just with pride, but with real gratitude for the teachers, family advocates, nurses, and parents who do this work every single day.
