This is a great tool for our toolbox. TEMA currently has 2 employees that are licensed to fly, both employees have Part 107 and COA licensures. We can go out survey Hazmat incidents along with storm damage assessments to get a bird's eye view of the track of a storm. We used it this past winter to survey ice jams along the wildcat creek. The big events that we work, we can map out parking, watch to see the flow to hopefully make improvements where needed. We partnered with Purdue to fly buildings this past winter to check ice that may become dislodged from rooftops and potentially fall on someone or something. We are in the process of sourcing a lift/drop mechanism as this will lift and carry 5lb. The thinking if used, deliver life vests or stop the bleed kits to an active shooter type incident etc. UNLIMITED the amount we will be able to do in the future.

🚁 See safety from a whole new angle!!
A drone funded by the Tippecanoe County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is helping emergency crews respond faster to hazmat spills and critical incidents. 3/20/2026 Maintenance was performed on the tornado siren located at Greenbush and Creasy Lane. The work involved installing all new wiring from top to bottom, as well as a new temporary antenna. We have several other sirens that can now be addressed with the warmer weather. This particular siren had been inoperable for some time due to wiring issues at the motor. Appreciation is extended to Cheesman Inc for their diligent efforts on this repair.

Tema Air 7 and Tippecanoe County Rehab along with Tema Ema were called to help Westpoint FD with a structure Fire. Looks to be a total loss due to the wind blowing the fire through the attic.
