PRECAUTIONARY NOTICE

Date: July 27, 2026

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

This advisory applies to all customers between 2882 and 4587 Green Grove Road.

Due to a recent incident affecting the water system, and in coordination with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), the Hartsville–Trousdale Water & Sewer Utility District is issuing this precautionary Do Not Use Water Advisory until water quality testing has been completed.

Until this advisory has been lifted, DO NOT use the water for:

Drinking
Cooking or food preparation
Brushing teeth
Showering or bathing
Washing dishes
Washing clothes
Preparing infant formula
Giving water to pets or livestock
Any other household or commercial use

Water samples have been collected and are being analyzed. This advisory will remain in effect until laboratory testing confirms that the water is safe for normal use.

The Utility District will notify all affected customers immediately once test results are received and TDEC has approved lifting the advisory.

We understand this is a significant inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation while we work to ensure the safety of our customers.

The Hartsville–Trousdale Water & Sewer Utility District has left cases of water outside of the water department for anyone that needs it. We are located at 322 Broadway.

Yesterday, we celebrated EMS Week with a cookout where our employees and their families came together to enjoy great food, fellowship, and time together as a department.

A special thank you to Air Evac 19 for sponsoring the meal and the ice cream trailer, and to Macon Community Hospital for sponsoring the sweats. We also want to thank Representative Kelly Keisling for coming and speaking to our department. Thank you as well to everyone else who helped and played a part in making the day a success.

We were also proud to recognize two outstanding members of our department with this year’s awards:

🏆 Paramedic of the Year – Josh Perrigo
🏆 EMT of the Year – Buford Biggs

We are grateful for these two individuals and for every single member of our department. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving the citizens and visitors of Macon County do not go unnoticed. Thank you all for what you do every day.

🇺🇸🚑 Turning Advocacy into Action for Rural EMS

Last week, Macon County EMS Director Spencer Tuck joined more than 350 EMS leaders from 46 states in Washington, D.C. for EMS on the Hill Day—an opportunity to directly advocate for the future of emergency medical services.

Tennessee was strongly represented, with 18 EMS services participating through TASA (Tennessee Ambulance Service Association), all working together to ensure rural voices are heard at the national level.

These efforts are already making a difference.

Following conversations with our Senators and Congressional Representatives, additional co-sponsors have signed onto key EMS legislation, gaining momentum and support in both the House and Senate. This progress is critical in moving these bills forward and ultimately improving healthcare delivery—especially in rural communities like Macon County.

Key focus areas included:

🔹 Improving Medicare reimbursement for Treatment In Place
🔹 Expanding Community Paramedicine programs
🔹 Addressing the cost and availability of blood products
🔹 Ensuring fair and sustainable EMS reimbursement models

Advocacy like this ensures EMS agencies are not only heard—but supported—with real solutions that strengthen patient care, improve access, and sustain services for the communities we serve every day.

We are proud to be part of these efforts and look forward to continued progress as these bills advance.
