Dr. Stephanie Hofer, Superintendent of Southmont Schools, treasures one of the most meaningful moments of each school year: handing diplomas to graduating seniors at commencement.

Over time, a fun Southmont tradition has developed as seniors present the superintendent with a small gift in exchange for their diploma. From golf balls during her first year as superintendent to marbles and, most recently, rubber ducks from the Class of 2026, the tradition reflects the strong relationships and joyful culture that define Southmont Schools.

Dr. Hofer’s sense of humor, student-centered leadership, and genuine connection with students shine through in moments like these, reminding us that the most memorable traditions are often rooted in relationships.

Ladoga Elementary is proud to offer before school and after school care for our Canners. Before School Canner Care begins at 7am daily and After School Canner Care is available until 5:30pm daily. 🏆 Congratulations to Ms. Blaydes, our LES Teacher of the Year! Thank you to Christi Hubler Chevrolet for hosting this contest and spoiling the winners! 🏆

We are excited to recognize our amazing PE teacher. Ms. Blaydes, for being named Teacher of the Year! Although she is new to the LES team this year, she has already made a tremendous impact on our students and school community.

Her love for elementary students shines through each day as she encourages teamwork, kindness, perseverance, and sportsmanship in every class. From cheering students on to teaching important life lessons through physical activity, she helps make LES a fun, positive, and supportive place to learn and grow.

Thank you for the energy, enthusiasm, and heart you bring to our school each day. We are so proud to have you as part of the LES family! 💚💛💚💛

Every year we close out the school year with our 5th grade vs staff kickball game. We take advantage of having the seniors at school and recruit them for the staff team! A big shout out to the class of 2026 for helping us secure the win!

We can’t wait to play in just 7 short years with our current 5th graders! 😢

We are going to miss these kiddos! Monday evening we celebrated the end of their elementary chapter and the beginning of their new adventure at Southmont Jr. High!
They left one last mark on Ladoga Elementary before they leave their mark on the world. 😉

Yesterday, we celebrated our former Canners as they prepared for graduation from Southmont! Each year the graduating class comes back to their home elementary school on the last day of school. The graduates reminisce on their younger years and parade through the halls while the littles cheer them on. It’s an all time favorite tradition! Check out the fun videos in the comments!

For anyone who hasn’t seen 99math before, students get 4.5 minutes to answer as many math facts as they can correctly. It’s fast-paced, competitive, and takes a lot of focus!
Our 5th graders have been working hard to improve their scores, and when they were consistently scoring in the 5000s, I challenged them to reach 5625 with at least 95% accuracy. They thought I was nuts, but Mrs. Long and I were sure they could do it! I promised that if they hit the goal, I’d buy them ice cream. 🍦
They have worked hard over the last few weeks and they have been creeping in on their goal!! Well… this week they didn’t just meet the challenge — they blew past it with an incredible score of 5889 at 95% accuracy! 💥
Their hard work, focus, and competitive spirit paid off, and they earned a well-deserved ice cream treat at McDonald’s during their Holiday World trip. Way to go, 5th grade! 💚💛💚💛

Congratulations to our Battle of the Books teams! 📚🏆

Our 3rd graders earned a 3rd place finish, and our 4th & 5th graders brought home the 1st place trophies! 🎉

Each student read a book and worked together as a team to compete against New Market and Walnut. We are so proud of their hard work, teamwork, and the way they represented Ladoga Elementary! A big thank you to our teaching staff for supporting and encouraging our students along the way!
