Tri-Cities Ministries is partnering with the community to help local students start the school year prepared and confident. They will be hosting a Backpack and school supply Giveaway, and we are currently helping to collect school supply donations to help fill those backpacks for children in need.

Pencils
Crayons & Colored Pencils
Markers
Notebook Paper
Composition Notebooks
Folders (plastic, with pockets and brads)
Scissors
Glue Sticks
Other school essentials

We are glad to see our neighboring department has been marked safe from this incident. The Lacy Lakeview Police Department can also declare we too are safe from kangaroo related incidents (so far).

It’s been a little over 24 hours since Bingus went on his walkabout through Waco, and maybe we’re being a little hopeful but…

On May 21st, 2026, the Lacy Lakeview Police Department and TSTC Police Department arrested Orlando Castillo (40yo) for a high-risk Parole Violation warrant in the 500 block of Powers Circle.

A huge thank you to Marilie Walker and her son, Carson, for their incredibly generous donation of personal protective equipment and medical kits to our department. Mrs. Walker donated 17 of each item pictured to the Lacy Lakeview Police Department, as well as 4 of each item to the Connally ISD Police Department.

Their support and generosity are greatly appreciated and will help ensure our officers are equipped with important lifesaving resources while serving the community.

On May 15, 2026, Demarrian Jones was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection to the shooting that occurred on May 14th.

Lacy Lakeview Police Officers and Detectives worked diligently and swiftly throughout the investigation to seek justice for the victim and bring this case to a resolution as quickly as possible.

The most recent update we have received is that the victim is out of surgery and is expected to recover.

This case serves as an important reminder: if you see something, say something. Assistance from members of the community played a vital role in this investigation, and we are grateful for the support and cooperation provided.
