The Lacy Lakeview Police Department is accepting applications for our Citizens Police Academy!

This free 8-week program (1 day a week) gives residents an inside look at law enforcement operations, from patrol and investigations to dispatch and community policing.

No prior experience is needed—just a curiosity about how we serve our community!

📅 When: Tuesdays, 6–8 PM
🗓️ Start Date: June 2nd, 2026
📍 Location: Lacy Lakeview Civic Center

A quick and paw-some update!‼️

For those of you who remember, LLPD Officer Nathan Rodriguez adopted “Chase” after our department rescued him from a volatile situation.

Chase is doing very, very well. Maybe a little too well. His birthday was celebrated about two weeks ago (see video in comments) and he is currently attending and about to graduate his day-time doggy school “Barkvard University”.

Rest assured, he is loved and cared for in his home!

📢📢Join Us in Celebrating Detective Tyler Ziegler! We are so thankful to have him as part of our team and for his dedication to keeping our community safe every day. 📢📢

Earlier this week, we received notification of the below:


Detective Tyler Ziegler has been selected to receive the 2026 State of Texas Law Enforcement Achievement Award for Professional Achievement through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).

This award represents one of the highest honors in Texas law enforcement and recognizes performance beyond standard expectations. Detective Ziegler was originally nominated for Public Service for his work involving numerous arrests and successful prosecutions of Online Solicitation of a Minor offenses. Following review by the Achievement Awards Judging Panel, the nomination was elevated and ratified by the TCOLE Board of Commissioners on April 16, 2026, under the Professional Achievement category.

Detective Ziegler will be honored with this award at Texas State Capitol in June.
