⚠️ Nitazenes are a highly potent group of synthetic opioids that can cause severe respiratory depression and fatal overdoses.

📢 Dr. Tape emphasizes that opioid overdoses can result in respiratory depression, causing an individual to stop breathing. Narcan (Naloxone) can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and restore breathing; however, multiple doses may be necessary. If an overdose is suspected, call 911 immediately and administer Narcan if available.

The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office would like to share an important safety message regarding co-sleeping.

Every year in Louisiana, babies tragically lose their lives while sleeping in the same bed as an adult. These deaths are heartbreaking and, in many cases, preventable.

Babies should always sleep alone, on their backs, in a safety approved crib, bassinet, or Pack 'n Play with a firm mattress.

Babies should always sleep alone without blankets, pillows, toys, or crib bumpers.

🩷 B: Back
Always place your baby on their back for every sleep, including naps and bedtime.

Use a safety approved crib, bassinet, or Pack 'n Play® with a firm mattress.
