Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force

On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, Sheriff Mark Schrader of the Chattooga County Sheriff Office requested the assistance of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force and other Investigators in locating a murder suspect, Katelyn N. Middlebrooks in connection with a murder investigation by Cherokee County Sheriff Office (GA). Middlebrooks had active warrants for Murder and Conspiracy to commit Armed Robbery. Agents and Investigators located Middlebrooks at a residence on Cook Rd. in Lafayette, GA. and was taken into custody without incident.

Cherokee County Sheriff Office will be releasing more detailed information later this date.

During the course of locating Middlebrooks, Agents made the following arrests:

Operation Fairview Sunset

The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force began investigating a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) operating in North Georgia and Southeast Tennessee eight months ago. Agents were able to identify key leaders of a large methamphetamine distribution network along distributors and stash houses. With the assistance of multiple agencies, LMJCDTF was able to infiltrate the DTO and determine the pipeline of illegal narcotics being distributed in the judicial circuit.

On Friday, July 24, 2020, Agents executed eight search warrants at various locations. As a result of the search warrants, the follow persons were arrested and face pending charges. The case is still ongoing and more arrests are expected in the near future.

On June 22, 2020 in the early morning hours, Walker County Sheriff’s Office made several arrest related to drug activity at 862 Nick-A-Jack Rd. in Flintstone, GA. Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force assisted in procuring and executing a search warrant at the residence. Upon executing the search warrant, ten additional people were arrested, making thirteen total drug related arrests associated with the residence.
