A reminder, the Town of La Veta remains in Stage 4 Water Restrictions.

🚨 CRITICAL WATER UPDATE: STAGE 4 WATER RESTRICTIONS NOW IN EFFECT 🚨

The Town of La Veta has officially implemented Stage 4 Water Restrictions due to a critical water shortage. These restrictions are MANDATORY & ENFORCED for all residents and businesses.

🚫 STRICTLY PROHIBITED (NO OUTDOOR WATERING):
NO watering of lawns

NO watering of flower beds

NO watering of vegetable gardens

NO watering of trees & shrubs

NO washing of vehicles

NO filling of swimming pools, hot tubs, or ornamental fountains

💡 ALLOWED EXCEPTION:
To maintain flower pots and vegetable gardens, you may use water transported from inside your home. However, absolutely no water use from a hose or any other outdoor connection is permitted.

⚠️ PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE:
1st Violation: Written warning

2nd Violation: $100 fine

3rd, 4th, etc. Violations: $500 fine

📦 Recycling Update: Cardboard Bins are Full 📦
Attention residents,

Please be advised that the cardboard recycling bins are currently at capacity. We kindly ask that you hold onto your cardboard at home for the time being rather than leaving it outside the bins.

The bins may not be emptied for some time as the recycling association is down a driver for the truck.

Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep our recycling area clean and manageable!

Construction Update: Town's Railroad Park Playground 🚧
Exciting changes are coming to the Town's Railroad Park! You will notice that safety barriers have now been placed around the playground area.
Our team is moving quickly, and dirt work along with concrete pouring will begin this week and continue into next week. For your safety and the safety of our construction crews, please stay strictly outside of the fenced barriers at all times. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to build a better, safer play space for our community! 😊👶🔨

The Huerfano County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers with Colorado State Patrol is on scene on Colorado Highway 12 Mile Marker 6 for a rollover vehicle accident that is partially blocking. The highway has been shut down to allow the vehicle to be safely removed. This shut down can last approximately 30 minutes. Please use alternative routes.
