As we wrap up May’s National Drowning Prevention Month and head into summer, there’s no better feeling than celebrating progress in the water 🌊☀️

As we continue recognizing May as Drowning Prevention Month 💙

Children with autism and other special needs are at an even higher risk around water. According to the CDC, drowning deaths among individuals with autism are nearly 40x more likely than the general population.That’s why accessible swim lessons and water safety skills matter so much. Every child learns differently, and every small step in the water is worth celebrating 🫶💦

We offer both private and group lessons for our special needs kiddos and do our best to pair each swimmer with an instructor who can help support their goals and be there to support your kiddo in the water 💙

May is National Drowning Prevention Month 💙

This sweet 2.5 year old came to us after mom and dad had tried multiple swim schools looking for the right fit. With a home pool, water safety had become a huge source of anxiety for their family, and starting lessons was not easy for her. There were lots of tears and fear in the beginning.

But her parents kept showing up, supporting her, and trusting the process 🫶

Now she comes into class excited, confident, and growing more independent every week.

This is why swim lessons matter. It’s not about forcing kids into the water — it’s about helping them build trust, confidence, safety skills, and a healthy respect for the water at their own pace 💦

May is National Drowning Prevention Month 💙

This sweet 2.5 year old came to us after mom and dad had tried multiple swim schools looking for the right fit. With a home pool, water safety had become a huge source of anxiety for their family, and starting lessons was not easy for her. There were lots of tears and fear in the beginning.

These kiddos have worked so hard building confidence and independence in the water — forming strong glides and kicking to back floating with less support and growing more comfortable with pool safety each week 🫶

Meet Coach Kaitlyn! 💦

Kaitlyn is one of our senior instructors and brings a calm, steady presence to every lesson. She’s especially loved by our littlest swimmers — her gentle, reassuring energy helps babies feel safe, comfortable, and ready to explore the water 🐣💙 — while also excelling with older kiddos in technique-focused lessons, guiding them with patience and precision to build strong foundations. 🏊‍♀️✨

With experience helping run the La Verne Gators swim team, Kaitlyn has a strong understanding of stroke development and progression, and even incorporates some ASL to better connect with and support her swimmers. 🌟
She creates a supportive, focused environment where swimmers can grow at their own pace while still being challenged — making waves through consistency, care, and strong technique in every lesson! 💫
