It’s Fall Festival time!

The parade participants are lining up, polishing their vehicles, and getting ready for their trip down Murfreesboro Road to the Veterans Memorial Park.

Come on out and wave along the route or join us at the park for festivities till 3 pm. Parade starts at 10 am.

Expect road closures this Saturday, September 12, for the annual Fall Festival Parade. Westbound lanes of Murfreesboro Road will be diverted to one of the eastbound lanes by 9:30 a.m. No traffic will be allowed to cross Murfreesboro Road from Floyd Mayfield Drive to Bicentennial Park during the parade. Roadblocks will be in place, and street department staff and La Vergne police officers will be out along the parade path to assist with the traffic and closures.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation is hosting two community meetings next week for the I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes Project.

The meetings are an opportunity to receive the latest project updates and speak directly with members of the project team. Both will be held from 12:30–6 p.m., and the public may stop by at any time during those hours.

The City of La Vergne is accepting applications for one vacant position on the Industrial Development Board following a resignation.

The IDB works to support economic development and business growth in La Vergne. The appointment is scheduled for consideration during the October 1, 2026, Board of Mayor and Aldermen Workshop and the October 6, 2026, Board of Mayor and Aldermen Meeting.

HOWL AT THE MOON 5K – ROAD CLOSURES

Please plan your route accordingly!

The annual Howl at the Moon 5K will take place next Friday, August 21 at 8:00 p.m., and road closures will be in place along Murfreesboro Road to help keep runners safe.

ROAD CLOSURES BEGIN AROUND 7:15 P.M.

• The westbound lanes of Murfreesboro Road will be closed beginning around 7:15 p.m.
• Westbound traffic will be diverted into one of the eastbound lanes of Murfreesboro Road.
• No traffic will be allowed to cross Murfreesboro Road from Floyd Mayfield Drive to Bicentennial Park during the race.
• Roadblocks will be in place along the race route.
• La Vergne Street Department staff and La Vergne Police officers will be stationed along the race path to assist with traffic and closures.

Please allow extra travel time, follow posted detours and instructions from city personnel, and use alternate routes when possible.
