TRAFFIC ADVISORY – June 13 America 250 Liberty Lap Color Walk

Traffic delays may occur Saturday morning near the traffic circle at Stones River Road and E. Nir Shreibman Boulevard during the America 250 Liberty Lap Color Walk.

Participants will walk from the Public Works building along the sidewalk to the crosswalk at the traffic circle, continue to the greenway, and then return to Public Works using the same route.

Officers will be stationed at key crossing locations and will temporarily stop traffic to allow participants to cross safely. Traffic will be permitted to move through the traffic circle between crossing groups when conditions allow.

Motorists exiting the Lake Forest community may experience brief delays and should consider alternate routes during the event.

Emergency vehicles will be given priority access at all times.

R.A.D. Self-Defense

The La Vergne Police Department is excited to announce another R.A.D. (R**e Aggression Defense) Self-Defense Course for Women, and for the first time, we are proud to be partnering with the MTSU Police Department to bring this program to our community.

The La Vergne Police Department has successfully hosted R.A.D. classes in the past, helping women gain practical self-defense skills, confidence, and awareness. This new partnership with MTSU Police allows us to continue growing the program and providing even more opportunities for participants to learn from experienced instructors.

R.A.D. is designed for women of all ages and fitness levels. Participants learn realistic defensive techniques, personal safety strategies, and situational awareness skills that can help them respond confidently during dangerous situations.

One of the most valuable parts of the course is the optional simulation day, where participants can safely put their newly learned skills into practice in a controlled environment. This hands-on experience helps reinforce techniques and build confidence in a way that classroom instruction alone cannot.

We are proud to work alongside the MTSU Police Department on this class. By combining resources and instructors, we can continue expanding programs that empower members of our community and promote personal safety.

Course Information
• Open to women ages 15 and older
• No prior experience required
• June 26th: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• June 27th: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• June 28th: Optional Simulation Day & Video Review
• Hosted in the City of La Vergne
• Location provided upon registration confirmation

Please note this is one complete course conducted throughout the weekend, not separate classes. Participants should plan to attend both instructional days.

If you've ever considered taking a self-defense course, now is the perfect opportunity. We hope you'll join us for this important and empowering program.
