Chief Scott Pullig had the honor of promoting Sergeant Barrence Rodgers to Lieutenant during a private ceremony in his office this morning. A formal promotion ceremony will be scheduled at a later date.

In a special moment shared with family, his wife, Rheavia, along with his daughter, Adilyn, and son, Barrence II, had the honor of pinning his new Lieutenant badge.

Lieutenant Rodgers began his law enforcement career with the La Porte Police Department in 2014 as an evening shift patrol officer. After four years in patrol operations, he was assigned to the Traffic Division as a traffic officer. In 2022, he was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the Evening Shift Patrol Division.

Throughout his career, Lieutenant Rodgers has served in several specialized roles, including Field Training Supervisor, Accident Reconstructionist, Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement, and Honor Guard Supervisor.

Please join us in congratulating Lieutenant Rodgers on this well-earned promotion and thanking him for his continued dedication and service to the La Porte community.

Today, the La Porte Police Department’s Crime Victim Liaison, Shaye Lister, hosted the Area Crime Victim Liaisons Meeting. The meeting was attended by Crime Victim Liaisons from across Harris County, as well as surrounding cities and counties, all coming together to collaborate, support one another, and strengthen services for victims in our communities.

The guest speaker, Jamie R. Wright, shared her powerful story of resilience and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. Jamie is the Founder and CEO of Lemmer Lee’s Place, a survivor-led housing initiative dedicated to creating safe, affordable homes for individuals and families rebuilding their lives after trauma.

Her inspiring message provided attendees with a meaningful perspective on the impact of the work they tirelessly perform each day. We are grateful to Jamie for sharing her journey and to all of the Crime Victim Liaisons who continue to serve victims with compassion, dedication, and hope.

The La Porte Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the subjects depicted in the attached video. Three male subjects walk into the parking lot of Angel's, 1601 W Fairmont Pkwy, just after midnight on 04/27/2026. In the video one of the subjects discharges a fire extinguisher. A short time later a male in a white passenger car pulls up to the gas pump and the fire extinguisher is discharged again and into the vehicle. The male driver gets out of the vehicle, goes towards to group of males, and it appears all subjects know each other. All subjects leave the scene a short time later. The discharging of the fire extinguisher towards the gas pumps caused damage to the card reader which resulted in approx. $9,000 in repairs.

If you have any information on the subjects or vehicle, please contact C.I.D. Specialist Amy Haire at 281-842-3173 referencing case number 2601279 and pass on any information you may have. There may be a cash reward available through Crime Stoppers if this individual is identified and charged. As usual, you may remain anonymous when reporting information on this, or any other crime
