I am running for an office that means the world to me. Not because I want an office.
I want to make a difference. I am a teacher at heart. I am a parent. I am a rabid Bulldog believer. I firmly believe that our district is AMAZING. I was taught this by my parents. I became a teacher because this was the district I wanted to teach in.

I want to serve because my heart bleeds orange.

Issues:

• Assure safe and secure schools
• Increased support for teachers, staff and students
o LPISD should be a place teachers love to work for and never want to leave!
• Support special programs so that students of all abilities have access to services that meet their needs and inclusion is the “norm” not the exception
• Foster an environment where all students feel included, safe and want to go to school every day
• Focus on school involvement and school pride
• Maintain fiscal responsibility through effective and responsible use of taxpayer funds
• Recognize and promote all of the outstanding things happening in the district
o Families should be moving to La Porte because of the great things happening in the district!

I taught at La Porte High School for 21 years. I then worked as an Educational Diagnostician for LPISD for 9 years. In 2021 I retired from education and bought the Rothe Companies, Women Owned Small Businesses that contract with NASA and the Department of Defense. I have been a resident of La Porte since 1963. I am a 1979 graduate of LPHS and all three of our children graduated from there as well. Our son Rowen (class of 2023) has Down syndrome and has been a part of the Lifeskills/Focus program and currently attends the Bulldog Bridge.
