Lackawanna County parks will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, due to the expected winter storm. This includes McDade Park in Scranton, Covington Park in Moscow, Merli-Sarnoski Park in Fell Twp. and Aylesworth Park in Jermyn. Parks will remain closed and unstaffed until noon on Monday, Jan. 26.

Our latest forecast update did not result in much change in snowfall totals or timing, which will be late Saturday night through Monday. All of Central NY and Northeastern PA are under a Winter Storm Warning. Before we get to Sunday, we will see frigid conditions tonight and Saturday morning.

Congratulations to Isaac Ryon on breaking the Lackawanna Trail single season rushing record in Friday’s victory over Nativity BVM (50-6). He now has 2,312 rushing yards this season, breaking Richard Jackson’s prior school record of 2,265 set in 2000.

Best of luck to the Lions as they continue on in the playoffs with another home game this Friday!
