We have 12 spots for FREE dental appointments on Saturday, May 8. These appointments are at Health Partners in Waldorf. The appointment includes a free exam, x-rays, and one service (such as a cleaning, a filling, an extraction, etc) for anyone who does not have dental insurance.

HOWEVER, WE HAVE TO FILL THESE APPOINTMENT SLOTS TODAY (5/3). In order to secure an appointment slot, we have to have a completed registration form. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AN APPOINTMENT, please contact Elizabeth Farar at 240-587-6373 or [email protected]. You have to complete the registration form and return it to Elizabeth electronically so the dental office can contact you to set the appointment time.

We need your thoughts in order to better understand how to help!

How has COVID-19 affected you? United Ways across Maryland are conducting a survey to help better understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This information will help us identify trends and emerging local needs, and provide resources and support during this difficult time. This survey asks about you, your household, and what you are doing to get by during these tough times.

This survey should take about 10 minutes. Your responses are confidential, meaning that no one will be able to associate your name with your response.

Please visit uwcm.org/COVIDsurvey to complete the survey before April 5.

This year has been so hard for so many reasons. Many fight battles that their neighbors never know. Some families take in a homeless child on top of their five other kids, some are widows fighting COVID, some recover from a mastectomy and their husband gets laid off. We wanted to offer a Boost to these families. Thanks to nominations from our partners, we’re out delivering Boost Baskets to 18 families. There’s little snacks/treats and a $300 gift card for families to use as needed. Here’s to making this bleak holiday season a little brighter. 🎄

We have 38 Boost Boxes for Senior Citizens left to be spoken for!

We have created Boost Boxes for senior citizens who are living on fixed incomes and could use a little boost this month. Boost Boxes are filled with laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other cleaning products as well as some hygiene items, first aid items, and a few treats. The boxes contain $50 in helpful supplies. These boxes are FREE and we will deliver them to senior citizens' doorsteps.

If you or someone you know could use a Boost Box for senior citizens, please contact Elizabeth Farar at [email protected] or 240-587-6373. Please leave a message if she is unable to answer the phone as it is a busy time of year!

HOLIDAY COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY FOR FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS!!

Looking for a way to safely serve the community this holiday season? We need assistance in delivering Boost Boxes to senior citizens in Charles County. Boost Boxes are 13x13 boxes full of helpful supplies (cleaning supplies, first aid items, hygiene items, nutrition shakes, and more) that will help seniors save money on basic necessities, allowing them to "boost" their limited household income this month.

We will be delivering these boxes to seniors across the county on Wednesday, December 16. We are asking for volunteers to deliver 3 to 5 boxes in one area (for instance, Waldorf or La Plata). This should take around 1 to 1 1/2 hours and the delivery time can be customized to your schedule. This is a great opportunity for a family to spend time together doing something that helps others in a safe, contactless way!

Please read the details on our Sign-Up Genius link and sign up if this opportunity would fit in your schedule: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0D4EADAE28A3FD0-boost

For more information, contact Elizabeth Farar at [email protected] or 240-587-6373. Let's spread some holiday cheer to senior citizens on December 16! 🎄
