From June 8–15, between 9 a.m. and the afternoon, OCFA will conduct wildland firefighting training at Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos. The exercise will include the controlled burning of vegetation in designated areas of the base.

Residents may see smoke and notice smoke odor in the area. Please be assured that this is a planned training exercise and not an emergency. The training provides firefighters with valuable hands-on experience in a safe, controlled environment.

Questions may be directed to OCFA Public Information Officer/Captain Sean Doran at 714-357-7782.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday morning at the Civic Center for our annual Memorial Day Ceremony.

We're grateful to Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva for her heartfelt remarks, and to Captain Nelson Laracuente of the 40th Infantry Division, California National Guard, for honoring us with his participation.

Most of all, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their service will never be forgotten.
