Save East County Schools A grassroots, community-led effort to strengthen Grossmont Union High School District Board. This is a volunteer group moderated by community members.

We do our best to moderate comments, but we are not available to review group discussions 24/7. We will not tolerate bullying, defamatory, offensive, discriminatory, or threatening comments made toward other Facebook commenters or community members. These guidelines also apply to discussions of members of the GUHSD Board of Trustees. Our students can see these discussions, and we strive to set a good example for what East County leadership looks like.

Listen. We're big video game fans over here. Like seriously fans.

But...they have their time and place.

WHEN libraries are open, fully staffed and fully funded.

WHEN counselors, youth services and mental health resources are readily available to all students.

WHEN teachers have ALL the resources they need to teach and guide our students without dipping into their own pockets or posting Amazon wishlists.

THEN let's talk video games.

Until that happens we need to be focusing on providing students with the foundation for a solid education.

This November 3rd, if you are in GUHSD trustee area 3, you have the chance to vote for change.

Area 3 - El Cajon, North Fletcher Hills

Area 5 - Granite Hills, Crest, Blossom Valley, Apluone, Jamul

Area 4 - Santee, Lakeside, Bostonia, Winter Gardens

Thank you everyone who came out today to support Jeneé Littrell Steve Mull and Pete Mergens for GUHSD Area 5 in their kickoff to the election season!

And a huge thanks to Grossmont Education Association for putting this all together and providing food, drinks and most importantly training on how to canvas for these candidates! Teachers gonna teach!

We look forward to seeing you all again soon, keep an eye out for more opportunities to get the word out for these candidates!

The Grossmont school board defunded librarians and funded video games.
They increased the budget for sports which will cause a larger budget deficit next year.
They continue to make choices for our students without the transparency and community involvement they have promised.

Let's bring education as the top priority back to our schools.
