Helix Charter High School Welcome to Helix Charter High School, home of the Highlanders! Helix Charter High School has been serving the community well since 1952.

Approximately 200 staff members serve a diverse community of 2,400 students. The school has a strong tradition of excellence in many areas, including academics, arts, and athletics.

Helix was honored to welcome Congresswoman Sara Jacobs to campus yesterday!

She met with our art students to talk about the upcoming Congressional Art Competition, a program that recognizes and encourages artistic talent across the country and in our congressional district. Students also had the chance to ask questions about the competition and her work in Congress.

This past Saturday, Helix Dance went to Knott's Berry Farm to compete for Sharp International State Championships for the last competition in our circuit this season.

We left Sharp as State Master Champions! 🥳✨🔥

🍀 Come cheer on the Helix Charter High School Pipe Band at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14, 2026!

This year’s theme, “Here, There, Irish Culture Everywhere,” celebrates multicultural communities and the role education plays in bringing cultures together.

Our talented Helix Pipe Band will be marching and competing against bands from across San Diego County and beyond for 1st Place, a $200 prize, and bragging rights!

We’d love to see Helix students, staff, and families come out to support the band and celebrate with the community. 🍀🎶

Helix students represented our school at the San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering at Petco Park! 🔬⚙️

With hundreds of booths hosted by universities and companies, our student clubs proudly created hands-on activities for the community. Girls in STEM hosted a STEM career dress-up and photo booth, Aspiring Medical Professionals led activities like practice taping, infant CPR demonstrations, and a suture craft, and Biotech Club guided kids through a bio algae experiment.

We love seeing our students inspire the next generation of scientists! 👩‍🔬🧬
