🚨La Marque Police Department Arrests Suspect in Child Sexual Assault Investigation🚨

On March 7, 2026, the La Marque Police Department received a report regarding the sexual assault of a child. Detectives immediately initiated an investigation into the allegations.

Throughout the course of the investigation, sufficient evidence was developed and presented to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office. As a result, two counts of Sexual Assault of a Child were accepted, and arrest warrants were issued with bonds totaling $160,000.

On June 2, 2026, officers executed the arrest warrants at the residence of Marcus Gamble. Gamble was taken into custody without incident.

This remains an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to contact Detective Kelemen at [email protected].

We would like to thank La Marque CID, members of La Marque SRT, and the USMS Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force–Galveston for their assistance in the apprehension.

We will continue to pursue justice for the children, ensuring those responsible are held accountable and that victims receive the protection and support they deserve.

On May 16, 2026, the Santa Fe Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm at an apartment complex in Santa Fe. During the incident, the suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment after allegedly discharging a firearm during an altercation.

Due to the La Marque Police Department having a joint team with SFPD, our Special Response Team (SRT) responded to assist and ultimately took over tactical operations during the incident. After approximately six hours of attempted but failed negotiations entry was made and Richard Vasquez was taken into custody without further incident.

Santa Fe Police Department charged Vasquez with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon with a $200,000 bond.

Incidents like this highlight the commitment of our SRT members—not only to the City of La Marque, but to the surrounding communities we proudly serve alongside our partner agencies. Our joint team continues to grow stronger and more effective with every operation.
