Who We Are:

Established in 2013, the Black Resource Center(BRC) is a Campus Community Center which serves the entire population of UC San Diego while emphasizing the Black experience. Birthed through strong advocacy of students, alumni and other supporters, the BRC seeks to provide support services and foster community for current undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to the student services, the center is positioned as a resource for alumni, faculty, staff, and community at-large. What We Do:

The Black Resource Center collaborates with various university departments and colleges to offer programs & provide student resources related to recruitment, orientation, retention and graduation. Black Resource Center programs are designed based upon three distinct pillars: Scholarship, Leadership & Community. These programs and services seek to expand students' personal & academic horizons while building community.

Before classes get going, come spend the day building community at our 2nd Annual Harambee Community Retreat!

Harambee is designed specifically for students who are beginning or continuing their journey at UC San Diego. It’s a chance to meet other students, build connections, learn about campus resources, and get grounded in the BRC community before the year takes off.

If you’re brand new to UCSD, we want you there.
If you’re a transfer finding your footing, we want you there.
And if you’re a second-year student ready to make this year different, we want you there too.

Come learn about the BRC, the resources and programs available to our students, and what it means to be part of the community at UC San Diego. You’ll also have a chance to hear from and connect with current students, staff, and faculty.

A celebration of achievement. A celebration of community. A celebration of Black excellence. This year’s Harambee Achievement Ceremony was an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments, leadership, resilience, and impact of our graduating students as they prepare for their next chapter.

Hey y’all! The Black Resource Center will be closing today at 2:00 PM. We will reopen during Finals Week and look forward to seeing you then!
