🐾 Don’t Kitten-Nap! 🐱🚫

It’s kitten season, and while those tiny kittens may look alone, their mom is often nearby and caring for them 💕

🚨 Before you pick up kittens, please remember:
✔️ Mom cats will leave temporarily to find food
✔️ Removing kittens too soon can put them at risk
✔️ Kittens have the best chance of survival with their mother

👀 What should you do instead?
✔️ Observe from a distance for several hours
✔️ Look for signs mom has returned (full bellies, clean kittens)
✔️ Only intervene if kittens are injured, in immediate danger, or mom has not returned after 24 hours

Taking kittens right away—often called “kitten-napping”—can do more harm than good 💔

For more information,

📞 Call La Habra Animal Control at (562) 383-4352 for advice before removing kittens

Together, we can give kittens the best chance to grow up healthy and safe 🐱💛
