🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 — 25 YEARS LATER

This morning, we remembered September 11 as it unfolded—moment by moment.

7:46 AM CT — Flight 11 struck the North Tower.
8:03 AM CT — Flight 175 struck the South Tower.
8:37 AM CT — Flight 77 struck the Pentagon.
8:59 AM CT — The South Tower fell.
9:03 AM CT — Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania.
9:28 AM CT — The North Tower fell.

In just 102 minutes, our nation was forever changed.

We remember the 2,977 lives that were taken, the first responders who ran toward danger, strangers who helped strangers, and every family who said goodbye that morning without knowing it would be their last.

Twenty-five years have passed, but our promise remains the same.

Remember their names.
Remember their lives.
Remember their courage.
Remember their sacrifice.

And teach the generations who were not yet born why we promised:

WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

Today, and always, the La Grulla Police Department remembers and honors every life lost on September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

2,977 lives. 2,977 names. Forever remembered.

At this moment 25 years ago, the North Tower fell.

The skyline had changed forever.
Thousands of families had changed forever.
America had changed forever.

By the end of September 11, 2001, 2,977 lives had been taken.

But today, we ask you to remember something more important than that number:

They had names.

They had families waiting for them to come home.
They had birthdays and anniversaries still to celebrate.
They had plans for tomorrow.
They had lives still left to live.

Among them were 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority Police officers who answered the call and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Twenty-five years have passed.

A generation has grown up that never witnessed that morning.

That makes our promise even more important.

Remember their names.
Tell their stories.
Honor their sacrifice.
Teach the generations that follow.

May the passage of time never become permission to forget.

At this moment 25 years ago, United Airlines Flight 93 crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

After learning of the attacks taking place across the country, the passengers and crew aboard Flight 93 made an extraordinary decision.

They fought back.

Their courage prevented the hijackers from reaching their intended target and undoubtedly saved countless lives.

The 40 passengers and crew members aboard Flight 93 would not make it home that day.

Their courage will never be forgotten.

🇺🇸 We remember Flight 93. We remember the 40. We will never forget.

8:59 AM CT | 9:59 AM ET

At this moment 25 years ago, the South Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed.

Only 56 minutes had passed since it was struck.

Inside and around the tower were firefighters, police officers, paramedics, civilians, and ordinary people helping one another through unimaginable circumstances.

For many first responders, their final moments were spent doing what they had sworn to do:

Protecting others.
Saving lives.
Answering the call.

We remember those who never made it out.

We remember those who went in knowing others still needed them.

🇺🇸 We remember the fallen. We honor the heroes. We will never forget.

At this moment 25 years ago, American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon.

The attacks had now reached the heart of our nation’s defense.

184 people were killed at the Pentagon and aboard Flight 77.

They were military personnel and civilians. Passengers and crew. Husbands and wives. Mothers and fathers. Sons and daughters.

Behind every number was a name.
Behind every name was a life.
Behind every life was someone who loved them.

🇺🇸 25 years later, we remember them. We will never forget.

17 minutes after the first tower was struck, United Airlines Flight 175 struck the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

At that moment, there was no longer any doubt.

America was under attack.

Yet amid the fear and chaos, first responders continued toward the towers.

Among them were hundreds of FDNY firefighters who climbed upward while thousands were coming down.

By the end of that day, 343 FDNY firefighters would not return home.

Today, we remember the 343.

Their courage.
Their service.
Their sacrifice.

🚒🇺🇸 343. Never Forgotten.

At this moment 25 years ago, American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

In an instant, an ordinary Tuesday morning became a day America would never forget.

As thousands began making their way to safety, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and other first responders rushed toward the danger.

For many, it would be their final call.

Today, 25 years later, we remember the lives lost, the courage shown, and the heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.
