Fall is on our doorstep and slow cooker season is calling! What’s your favorite slow cooker recipe? Drop it in the comments so we can all add a few new meals to our menu this fall. πŸ˜‹πŸ₯˜

Storms can happen at any time of year, and the best time to prepare is before severe weather is in the forecast. As we recognize National Preparedness Month, take a few minutes this week to build or refresh your emergency kit. Include essentials like bottled water, nonperishable food, flashlights, extra batteries, a first-aid kit, medications, phone chargers, and important documents.

πŸ” Strong passwords are one of your best defenses against online scams.

Make your passwords long, unique, and hard to guess. Consider using a passphrase with several unrelated words, avoid personal information, and enable multi-factor authentication whenever possible.

πŸ’§ Fayette Electric Cooperative is proud to support organizations that make a difference in our communities!

Through our Community Reinvestment Grant Program, Fayette EC recently awarded a $5,000 grant to Lavaca Swimming Pool to help expand water safety education, swimming lessons, lifeguard training, and wellness programs for residents of Lavaca County and surrounding communities.

Best of all, these locally reinvested funds do not come from member electric rates. Instead, the program utilizes eligible unclaimed capital credits that would otherwise be turned over to the state, allowing Fayette EC to reinvest those dollars back into the communities we serve.
