🚧 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗟𝗔 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘! 🚧

Have you noticed the orange signs, milling machines, and paving crews around town this week? It's officially happening! This week, work kicked off on a massive, town-wide roadway transformation. 🛣️

We're thrilled to share that 𝗡𝗖𝗗𝗢𝗧 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮 has begun its major resurfacing project — and it will repave 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 state-maintained (NCDOT) road within the Town of La Grange!

And it gets even better: paired with the Town's own planned street work, this is the 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀. Get ready for smoother rides, safer commutes, and a fresh look for our whole community! ✨

📍 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱?
All 10 state-maintained roads inside the La Grange town limits:
• NC 903
• New Hope Road
• Firetower Road
• Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
• Fields Station Road
• East & West Railroad Street
• North Forbes Street
• Herring Rd / Ed Herring Rd
• North Charles Street
• Washington Street

Crews will also pave to the back of the radius/joints on connecting city side streets and key signalized intersections for a seamless transition. 👍

⚠️ 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀
Safety is our number one priority. As crews work, please keep these in mind:

• 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀: Obey posted work-zone speed limits, watch for "Road Work Ahead" signs, and follow flaggers' directions.
• 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗺𝗽 & 𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Crews mill the road about 1.5 inches deep before laying the fresh asphalt surface. Take milled edges and rough spots slowly.
• 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀 (𝗹𝗼𝘄/𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀): Shoulder work happens after paving, watch for temporary drop-offs along newly paved edges.
• 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀: Give yourself a few extra minutes. Lanes will shift as work moves along.

📢 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲
Tomorrow, Friday June 19th is 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom.

Because Town Hall operates Monday–Thursday, holidays that fall on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday are observed on the following Monday.

Therefore, in observance of 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵, the La Grange Town Hall will be closed Monday, June 22, 2026.

✅ Town Hall will resume normal hours on Tuesday, June 23.

𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 – 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
The La Grange Town Council will hold a Budget Workshop on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Council Room at La Grange Town Hall.

The purpose of the workshop is for the Mayor and Town Council to continue discussion and review of the Recommended FY 2026–2027 Budget.

Key highlights of the recommended budget include:

• No property tax rate increase — the recommended tax rate remains unchanged at $0.328 per $100 of assessed valuation, the same revenue-neutral rate adopted after the 2025 revaluation.

• No utility rate increases — no proposed increases to water, sewer, or electric retail utility rates.

• Minimal household fee adjustment — the only recurring household fee adjustment is a proposed $1.00 per month increase to the garbage collection fee to help offset rising landfill tipping fees and contractor fuel surcharge costs.

• Infrastructure and equipment — funding for the library roof, town street resurfacing, sewer CCTV system, street sweeper, and grapple truck.

• Community improvements including Downtown Revitalization and Park Upgrades.

• Economic development — funding for Year 1 priorities from the Town’s 2026–2031 Strategic Economic Development Plan.

The workshop is open to the public.
